Here are a few notes on the Patriots active roster and the inactives:
- James Sanders has started every game so far this year at free safety but will be on the sideline today with an abdomen injury. That should send Lewis Sanders into the starting lineup. When healthy, Lewis Sanders has played some cornerback, some safety and even some linebacker for the Pats and will probably have a busy day today.
- One of the more interesting inactives last week was tight end David Thomas, with rookie Tyson DeVree playing for the first time. Roles are reversed today, as Thomas is back in uniform and DeVree will sit. There was never a specific reason for Thomas’ absence last week, as he was never on the injury report. It was simply a coach’s decision.
- It’s apparent that LaMont Jordan is fully healthy now and appears ready for a bigger role, if need be, against his former team today. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is inactive for the first time since he was signed from the practice squad. Jordan, Sammy Morris, Kevin Faulk and Heath Evans are the Pats’ backs today.
